Join us for a historic moment as India's very first Conservation Conference is inaugurated!
India is a breathtaking country that boasts 7-8% of the world's biodiversity, including over 45,000 species of plants and 91,000 species of animals. Yet, with only 2.4% of the world's area and a rapidly growing population, the pressure on natural resources is mounting.
India's vibrant wildlife and natural resources are under increasing pressure due to rapid economic development and urbanisation. Despite numerous organisations working towards conservation efforts, most work independently and do not collaborate or exchange ideas. This is a significant shortcoming in India's conservation efforts, and a dedicated platform for wildlife researchers and professionals is urgently needed.
This is why the Conservation Conference is so important - to bring together professionals and researchers in the field of wildlife research, conservation, and management in a collaborative effort to protect India's precious wildlife.
This biennial conference will be the first of its kind in the country, bringing together wildlife professionals, researchers, managers, conservationists, and policymakers under one roof. By creating a platform for dialogue and sharing of ideas, we can generate solutions for pressing conservation issues.
The outputs of this platform will serve as policy briefs, offering invaluable insights into the dos and don'ts of different issues of wildlife conservation. These knowledge documents can then be used to disseminate knowledge and integrate wildlife conservation with sustainable development, which is crucial in today's world.
But the Conservation Conference isn't just about policy - it's also a fantastic opportunity for networking and education. Working groups, meetings, and receptions will provide ample opportunities to connect with peers in wildlife science, research, management, business, and education.
Join us for this exclusive event and be a part of India's efforts to protect its precious wildlife and collaborate to create a better future for our planet.
